Stand, watch & pray with us!

It has been a VERY tiring week for us. Not only that I myself was sick, but also many other children. Few days ago, we had a very challenging night with two of the little ones fell really ill and I thank God that He healed them (you can read them in the post entitled "Jesus heals").

Today, Sri Nat, Director of this Children Center was sick. At first we thought it is the normal fever, but her condition got worst come late afternoon. Her body was very cold. The doctor who came was afraid to give her any injection because her body was cold. By then, we were already praying very hard for her.

At one point she was slipping away, her face turn pale and her breathing was slow.

Prior to this slipping-away moment, as we were praying for her I noticed that she kept groaning, and after a while she started yawning, when I saw that yawn immediately I remembered what I've once learned about manifestation of the evil spiritual. (ie: yawning, sighing are some of the signs that a person could be under spiritual attack). That yawn tells me that this is not a normal sickness, it tells me that it has to do with evil spirit.

When we saw that she is slipping away, we started to rebuke the spirit of death in the Name of Jesus. We were engage in the warfare for a few minutes until we saw that she is coming back and stablised.

We still sent her to the hospital because we do not know why he body is cold. She is hanging on there. Although she is now stable, but I know in the spiritual realm it is not finish yet.

Stand, watch and pray with us. We are not sure why such strong encounter. But we are thankful that the Name of Jesus is stronger than any names, principalities and powers.

Jesus heals!

Everyone knows that high fever is very dangerous for little children. Two days ago Chanda and Samnang fell ill with high fever. Both of them fell ill in the morning and Chanda’s condition was worrying because the fever will not subside even after we had sponged him many times. Besides, his lips kept wanting to turn blue.

Samnang’s condition got worst come evening. He lost appetite totally and started to vomit. At one point his nose started to bleed as he vomit and he didn’t even have the strength to stand. They have never fallen so ill like this before. The doctor has gone to town and will not be back until the next morning. So, we can only trust Jesus to heal them.

The adults prayed. The other children prayed too. Although none of us said anything but each of us knew in our heart that their condition MUST improve by the next morning. If not it will be very dangerous for the two boys.

The morning was quiet and warm. The first thought that came to mind as I woke up was “how are the two boys doing?” The first thing I did was to look out to the window towards the kitchen and I saw the miracle of Jesus! Samnang is EATING!!!! Samnang LOVES to eats, if he is not eating we will be worried. That morning, he ate THREE plates of porridge! That is a sign that he is healed.

Then I went to the another building to check on Chanda. He was still asleep but the good news was the fever is GONE!! Later, he was able to get up and feed himself. That is a good sign. The same day itself, he was able to take rice again.

Everybody rejoices with what God has done! You should listen to the two of them saying “Thank you Jesus for healing me”. That is the BEST!

Samnang & Chanda - they are brothers.

Keep us in prayer

It is the time and season of the year again where there are extreme heat as well as extreme rain. Many have fallen sick one after another. If we are in a well developed country this is not much of a threat as medical aid is accessible at any time, but here in Cambodia getting medical aid can be challenging especially in the rural area. However, the greatest fear during the summer is the dengue fever. The living condition in may parts of Cambodia especially the rural area is the perfect breading ground for the Aedes mosquito.

While we have sick kids to be taken care of at the center, my mind is on those who do not have the basic neccessity to keep themsleves from the Aedes mosquitoes. My prayer is that God would lead us to specific homes who would need help that they may experience the goodness of God.

Rescued from fish bones

What can a fish bone do to us? For an adult it is not much of a threat, should a fish bone stuck in your throat, you can fix that easily by swallowing a mouth full of rice and let the rice push the fish bone down your throat. But what happen if a 4 year old had a fish bone stuck in his throat?

Samnang couldn’t stop crying because a fish bone got stuck in his throat. He threw out several times and finally the fish bone came out. It was a traumatic experience for him.

Come evening, it was time for dinner. We noticed that Samnang was not eating and thought that it could be because his throat still feels sore from the fish bone. Sri Nat (the Director of this center) fed Samnang some rice, but he couldn’t swallow. Later, Sri Nat had a feeling that there might be another fish bone down in his throat. So, she brought him aside and soon, we heard Samnang vomiting again.

Sri Nat was having a hard time trying to get the fish bone out and Samang was already tired from vomiting. Finally Sri Nat prayed. After the short and simple prayer, she tried again, and this time the fish bone came out without much difficulty!

Everyone rejoiced for what had happened. The best thing was Samnang immediately started eating. That evening he ate 2 plates of rice and this morning he ate 2 plates of rice again! That is a sign that his throat is perfectly ok! Praise God!

This is Samnang.

Unseen needs

They enjoy all the football matches they have every evening.
They enjoy every single meal provided on the tables.
They enjoy going and coming back from the school everyday.
One would think that life is so carefree and problem-free for them.
But is that really true?

Just about a week ago, one of the 10 years old climbed up to the water storage area to vent his anger and frustration. The storage area is about 5 metes high and he was at 3.5meters. To cut the long story short, we had to bring him down by force and the “drama” didn’t end there. He was fighting back physically and verbally with us because he just felt frustrated. At one point we just have to hold him down.

We have another three younger ones. It is only recently that I’ve learned about their past. If you know of their past, you will think that life just doesn’t make sense. If we could think that life doesn’t make sense for them, then imagine how would their little mind comprehend what they had been through.

A few of them seems to have problem with certain struggles that one think that kids at that age shouldn’t be facing. But the reality is that they are facing them in their life.

These are just a few examples mentioned, but it should be enough to make us realized that kids have needs too and their needs are not limited to the physical (ie: daily provisions). Apart from extending compassion and empathy let us also realized that God has empowered us to meet those unseen needs as He has said in Isaiah 61:1-4 and let His Spirit gives us insight and discernment for each person.

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor, he has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted. To proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to those who are bound. To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord and the day of vengeance of our God. To comfort those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness…”
